Why Proxy IP
In today’s globalized Internet environment, many people want to break through the geographical limitations to access specific foreign websites or services. For example, they may want to watch a foreign movie or video, access a foreign academic database, or start a multinational e-commerce business, etc. However, due to network policies and geographic restrictions, direct access to these foreign resources is often hindered, and this is where proxy IP comes in handy. Proxy IP can change your network access IP address to bypass restrictions and allow you to access your target content.
Selecting a suitable proxy IP service provider
- Evaluate reputation: Prioritize providers that have a good reputation in the industry and have been in business for a long time. You can use online forums, professional review websites, and other channels to check other users’ reviews of the service provider to see if it has frequent disconnections, IP blocking, and other problems.
- IP resource richness: A good proxy IP service provider will have a large number of IP resources covering different regions and types (e.g. dynamic IP, static IP). Rich IP resources can meet your diversified needs, for example, you may need to switch IPs from different countries to visit websites in specific regions.
- Speed and Stability: Test the speed and stability of the proxy IP provided by your service provider. You can use a specialized network testing tool to test the IP provided by the service provider at different times to check network latency, download speed, and other indicators. Choose a proxy IP with high speed, low latency, and high stability to ensure a smooth Internet experience.
- Reasonable price: Compare the price packages of different service providers and choose the one with the best price-performance ratio by combining the quality of services they provide. Please pay attention to the details such as the number of IPs, usage hours, traffic limitations, etc. included in the pricing packages to avoid extra charges in the future.

Proxy IP Settings on Different Devices
i Windows system
- Open the Console and locate the Network and Internet option.
- Tap “Network Connections”, find the network connection you are currently using (e.g., Ethernet or Wi-Fi), and right-click to select “Properties”.
- In the properties pop-up window, find “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”, select it and click Properties.
- In the new window, select “Use the following IP address” and “Use the following DNS server address”. Fill in the “IP Address” field with the proxy IP address, “Subnet Mask”, “Default Gateway”, and “Preferred DNS Server” and “Alternate DNS Server” information according to the proxy IP provider’s requirements.
- When finished, click OK to save the settings.
ii Mac system
- Tap the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen and select System Preferences.
- Tap the Network icon and select the network connection you are currently using (such as Wi-Fi or Ethernet) on the left.
- Click the “Advanced” button at the bottom right corner and switch to the “Proxy” tab in the pop-up window.
- In the “Proxy Server” field, check “Web Proxy (HTTP)”, “Secure Web Proxy (HTTPS)”, etc., and fill in the proxy IP address and port number in the corresponding “Server” and “Port” fields. In the “Server” and “Port” columns, fill in the proxy IP address and port number.
- Tap OK to save the settings, and then tap Apply to make the settings take effect.
iii Mobile devices (Android for example)
- Open the “Settings” of your cell phone and find the “WLAN” option.
- Long press on the currently connected Wi-Fi network and select Modify Network.
- In the pop-up window, click Show Advanced Options.
- In the Proxy settings, select Manual.
- Enter the proxy IP address in the Proxy Server Host Name field and the port number in the Proxy Server Port field.
- Tap “Save” to complete the setup.
Common Problems and Solutions
- Unable to connect to the proxy server: Check whether the proxy IP address and port number are filled correctly, and make sure the proxy IP service is working properly. You can contact the service provider’s customer service for advice. Meanwhile, check whether the network connection of the device is normal, and try to reconnect to the network.
- Network slowdown: The selected proxy IP may be inherently slow, or the IP may be heavily utilized causing congestion. Try switching to a different proxy IP, or contact your service provider for a cleaner IP resource.
- Access to the site is still limited: some sites may have a proxy IP detection mechanism and may deny some proxy IP access. You can try to use other types of proxy IPs (e.g. Private Proxy, Transparent Proxy), or contact your service provider for a more effective solution.
With the above steps, you should be able to use proxy IP to break through the network limitations and enjoy a wider range of network resources. If the above tutorial fails to work, you can use IPFLY ‘s Proxy IP to start your internet journey.
